Next was "To Believe in Women" by Lillian Faderman. This book is a fascinating deep dive into a formative period of women's rights (mostly post Civil War to 1920),  keeping the focus on the lesbian leaders of these efforts. Highly recommend

It's in between two parts of the terminal, there are no gates there so you have to stop there if it's on your way but depending on your gate you might not go by. It has like two dozen nice private rooms with toilets. Worth the detour!

Boston only has direct flights to NRT so I normally go through there, but when I'm only here for a week (actually I'm in Tokyo now) that extra two hours on both ends to get to the airport adds up. At this point I don't really have a strong preference

Last was "Who Pays for Diversity?" by @oneyaokuwobi.bsky.social, who demonstrates the limitations and costs of organizational diversity initiatives. This is one of the best management books I've ever read. Highly recommend

Last was "Islands of History" by Marshall Sahlins. While there's some insightful cultural anthropology work it's mostly an almost comically self-serious philosophical work of historiography
