I *seem* to have worked out my frame rate issues and it's getting pretty consistent full motion out of these demos. Note that due to "video signal crimes" the NTSC Ataris output at about 59.92 fps progressive video, not the standard 59.94 interlaced frames, so I have to fight the video capture card.

In Lucasfilm Games' "Rescue on Fractalus" you fly a spacecraft in a war zone, picking up downed pilots & fighting UFOs.

First few levels settle you into a routine; around level 8 they start mixing in alien spies!

First time this happened when I was a kid was best jumpscare of *any* video game :D

Putting the 800XL and the 130XE head to head... In addition to the cleaner video image the XE has an additional 64KB of extended RAM which I'm using to *slightly* speed up the multiplication operations with a big lookup table.

Last hack of the old year was getting the tiered rendering filling in 'blocks' of 4x4 and 2x2 before the final 1x1 pixel pass. Looks much awesomer than drawing a single pixel at those tiers!
