I found three clumps when I was not looking for them at all. Then I grabbed one and ran to the car yelling at @adamstemple.bsky.social Get in The Car! It was fun, if not well thought out. :)

I feel like I ended up on the wrong list somewhere. Why am I getting text messages from Charlie’s widow? I hold no beliefs that overlapped. Unless he at some point said water was wet. Yuck.

Today @lollardfish.bsky.social and I got up and went foraging for mushrooms. It was sticky and buggy and really fun. We found lobster, white spore chicken of the woods, and a ton of oyster mushrooms. Pics to follow.

I made a thing for friends today. A mini-Brie wrapped in prosciutto, cooked over the fire ala s’more’s, sandwiched between wheat crackers with a fig-walnut jam schmeer.

David caught a fish and then smoked it. I took it and turned it into chowder. Dinner is very good.

I took our foraged ramps and a little arugula and made an oil to top off the chowder to add brightness. So tasty.

Things that irk me just a tiny bit: blood oranges of vastly different colors. Behold! This mess is bringing us a citrus cake recipe next week but oh the mess. :)
A blue plastic cutting board has three halves of blood oranges, two are very orange and one is blood red. There is also some red orange zest and zester laying to one side. Also a chefs knife lays off to the same side.

I love Minnesota with all my heart. However, currently the outside feels like being pelted repeatedly with tapioca pearls. Which is not cozy.

I remember what they did for Christmas. I will not be taking any ideas from them.
