I was responding to the comment that it’s always easy being a cis man and how the thread speaks of them as a monolith. In my experience having an inclusive perspective comes with ramifications no matter what your gender is.

I appreciate this and can accept this thread was not the best to comment on. I do see these types of posts A LOT and this is my first comment on such—I’m only suggesting cis men are not a monolith and this kind of anger can be more destructive than constructive.

That my comment on one specific aspect of this thread now means I’m a rape apologist reinforces what I was saying. I don’t want young men to be radicalized rightward either but I guess I’ll have to find somewhere else to have that conversation

So much projection here! I was commenting specifically on the anger and how that only leads to more anger. Children are easily influenced and can believe crazy things, if you’re only going to welcome them back as a shamed dog then you won’t have many pets

There’s also massive platforms pushing awful content intentionally to boys/young men and these problems have gotten worse not better. I’m suggesting shame will not change them no matter how hard you try

I commented because I’ve seen this kind of post so so so many times and it does make me sad that so many men treat women horribly but I also think this kind of public venting adds to the division.

All I’m saying is women need men on their side and making everything “boys vs girls” just perpetuates everything already happening. Be mad! You’re right to be but the amount of misandry and villainizing of a whole gender will not build anything good and we’ve been doing this schtick for a while

This kind of response is taking the bait—it’s designed to enrage & rage repels, the more we alienate each other the worse this gets. I don’t support whats going on, but I also don’t support reductive void screaming, digital backpatting and dogpiling on someone trying to be constructive

I think there are a lot of traps for young men to fall into and not all of them have parents capable of teaching them this stuff, they can be course corrected but this kind of approach won’t accomplish that. I’m genuinely, earnestly asking for a real answer, not more hate but yeah dunk on me

Sure fine and I guess there was no possible way of adding to the discourse here beyond agreeing that yes men are awful. But men can be sweet, kind, loving too and no one wants to talk about that especially on this platform

I’m just really disappointed in how nobody has anything constructive to offer here. I’m not suggesting men treat women great and everyone should stop giving them shit. I just think I’ve seen so so so much of this kind of venting and I don’t think it offers anything beyond more hate
