That being said I want to clarify that outside of the uses of AI I've researched for this game, I have not researched the reactions. If there's people being idiots and flinging around death threats to the devs, VAs, anyone on board, I don't condone that.

With AI becoming the weapon that it is, consent is no longer the issue. It is the use of it at all.

We're already seeing cultural figures like Neil deGrasse Tyson and Morgan Freeman try and kick back against people using their voices to stop the spread of misinformation. Besides, voice actors willingly providing their voices to train off of makes training easier for those that don't.

I think even if they consent to the use of their voices being fed into GenAI, that can still create a very slippery slope. Without regulation (which we're currently at risk of becoming a reality), voice actors who consent to one project could have their voice be used for something vastly different.

Even if they say they can "never replace the human aspect", using GenAI, even with permission, is a moral black area. That role could have been a job given to a human. That role could have fed people.
