Nope, there wasn’t an election, he just resigned. There will be an election sometime this year though.
February 2, 2025 at 2:22 AM
He resigned but is still PM until the party finds a new leader — we don’t really have the equivalent to a vice president.
February 2, 2025 at 2:19 AM
He’s going to be PM until the party selects a new leader.
February 2, 2025 at 2:01 AM
This is probably one of the most consequential things he’ll ever do and I’m willing to bet they’re still getting details into place before he speaks.

They don’t need to lose every seat to lose official party status — a few recent polls have put them in that territory.

I think you’re crazy if you think this changes the outcome of the next election. At this point the LPC will be lucky to remain an official party.
January 6, 2025 at 4:40 PM
I guess we’ll have to wait and see what he campaigns on. Either way, the LPC/NDP dug this hole and now Canadians are going to have to sit in it for a while. I’m not nearly as worried about PP as I would be about Trump though.
January 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
I guess it depends on how you’d define far right.
January 6, 2025 at 4:21 PM
“Far right” is a bit of a stretch, imho.
January 6, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Trump says stupid things pretty much every time he speaks, but he didn’t say this. People magazine, Snopes, and Factcheck have all debunked it.

Iron lungs to own the libs!

Do you have really short legs or are you just insane?

Just set up the central root access management yesterday and I don’t care if there’s not another announcement for 10 years now — super slick and is going to make a huge difference.
November 29, 2024 at 5:28 PM
Tons of great security announcements over the last week — things like central control over root access, RCP’s, and block public access to VPC’s.

What changed between these two posts?
November 19, 2024 at 10:50 AM
Just having a Quick Look at the platforms and they all seem to mention “across the province” platform planks. Messaging is probably just more focused.
November 19, 2024 at 12:19 AM
The HRM is 50% of the electorate (probably even more of the vote share), when the next biggest are in the province is 30k people, it’s not surprising where they focus their energy.

Just finished my annual watch through of Midnight Mass and that’s always good for my mental health. The scene in the school the Sheriff debates teaching religion in school with Bev seems particularly relevant in today’s climate…

I think it’s more a testament to the incredibly wide variety of roles there are in the org. A solution architects experience is going to be a lot different than an SREs.

November 16, 2024 at 10:14 AM
Maybe? Maybe not. Trump may look like he won by a large margin this election but a lot of people in the house and senate are there on razor thin victories and doing anything extreme probably isn’t in their best interest.
November 13, 2024 at 2:13 AM
Trump can’t just create a new department and assign secretaries without congressional approval, and he certainly can’t give secretaries power over other secretaries.
