Phasia obesa seen this afternoon feeding on daisies in our garden.

Phasia obesa is a parasitoid of shield bugs. Specifically, its larvae parasitize nymphs of several Heteropteran species, including shield bugs.
I count a dozen Shieldbug daily in our garden.

On my daily wander around our North Essex garden with camera, I found this fly, about 5mm long on shady side on hedge.
Can anyone id please, possible Paraplatypeza atra (Meigen, 1804)

Had a iRecord June record redetermined by the Simon, the country recorder to Horehound Long-horn Nemophora fasciella.
A scarce species, distributed mainly in the south and south-east of England, but very local.
Another good garden find.

A couple of keen fisherman seen out of the hide today at Great Holland Pits. The Kingfisher was entertaining us for 1/2 an hour with the water level as low as I've seen it.

A great day spent @nationaltrust.org.uk #Blickling estate today after checking out of Blacksmith Cottage.
Weather was lovely, staff and volunteers were helpful and knowledgeable. Views were stunning as seen looking from the house down to the Parterre.

County recorder believes this is possibly a Sciota rhenella
Poplar Knot-horn, which came to my garden light in June this year. If correct the 5th Essex record since 1990 in Essex.
