This Reddish Egret was putting on a show. My husband always knows he's going to get a nap in the car when I find one of these characters in a good spot, because I'm going to be occupied for a while.

Happy New Year! I was able to get 104 species on my Jan. 1 Big Day. My favorite sighting of the day was probably this family of Sandhill Cranes (2 adults w/ their 2 progeny from last year) who decided to celebrate the New Year by beginning work on the next batch of babies.

An extremely rare (vagrant) Snow Bunting is hanging out in Brevard County, FL and is attracting tons of visitors. I felt bad being one of them, but he seemed generally unbothered as long as we all kept our distance. What a beautiful bird.
