What are these holes?!?

macro of my milksnake’s scales
See the 2 holes at the tips?

I looked up other Milksnake photos and it’s the same thing! But not on other snakes sp.

Anyone know what they are and why milksnakes have them?

Curiouser and curiouser

The Cape wolf snake (Lycophidion capense) is small and completely harmless. They can be found throughout much of Southern Africa. But be careful, as they are extremely similar in size and appearance to the dangerously venomous stiletto snake.
