I don't really believe that UNM and campaign protestors are different people or at odds with one another. I think it's good for UNM to lay out precise, long form demands, and it's good for people to show up and prove they are serious and have numbers.

Do you think her record is above this sort of judgement though? The ball is in her court to prove she is less cruel and genocidal than the administration that she is currently a part of. I know I could be won very easily by calling for conditioning aid or saying she will recognize Palestine.

Why wouldn't pushing her toward popular and morally sound positions help her win though? Most protestors are saying "win my vote"

You are being obtuse. Loudly showing up to say "we want to vote for you, here is how you can win our support" is the strategy. This is what the uncommitted vote was, and what protesting Harris rallys now is.

There are a lot of flawed but fair conservatives in US politics. The Democratic party is full of them. If you are so far right that you can't find a home in the dems, you are a morally reprehensible extremist. This was true in 1980 and 2008 and now.

I want you to understand my critique here is your specific framing on this specific thing. You don't have to convince me that Palestine should be free. I'm specifically saying that referring to the only Jew in a group of zionists as "the zionist" is flirting with antisemitism. That's it.

I'm not suggesting there is any parity between their records on Palestine. Shapiro is particularly awful on that front. Im just suggesting you watch the optics of singling out the only Jewish guy in a group of zionists as "the zionist"

This framing is a bit sketchy to me tbh. Walz is a zionist, and the context here kind of feels like you are using zionist as a substitute for Jew.

I'm arguing that it's not possible to bomb 80% of a city, destroy hospitals, force people to migrate around, and cut off food access and utilities without causing hundreds of thousands of deaths by a combination of factors. I don't see how someone could disagree.

Absolutely astonishing to see someone say this, I'm truly floored by how depraved this is. You are actually arguing that blowing up 80% of the buildings in a dense urban area and bombing refugee camps probably isn't causing casualties.

This is the lancet, a highly respected medical journal taking a holistic look at the various sources of info and aggregating them to make an estimate. Do you think the thousands of bombs just aren't hitting very many people, or that people usually survive buildings collapsing or something?
