If the oil can't be sold, what happens next? Shutting down wells can damage the oil field and harm future production, but there is no alternative. Putin is greatly limiting Russia's eventual come back.

There are at least 11 suitable documents of which a U.S. passport or U.S. birth certificate are only 2. Note the difference between Real I.D. drivers license which is proof of identity and Enhanced DL which is proof of citizenship and issued by 5 states, WA, VT, NY, MN, MI.

They arrest US citizens only through extreme incompetence. I imagine citizens have a strong 4th amendment case in a lawsuit after an improper arrest.
