Maybe don't assume everyone is against making positive changes before you fly off the handle. If you were incarcerated they obviously put you into an inappropriate facility and you weren't evaluated correctly. Ignoring the epidemic of mental health problems and homelessness isn't the answer either.

So your answer is to leave people who need help in the streets to fend for themselves and not try to get them help?

You're assuming that mental health professionals in an appropriate facility with proper standards of care wouldn't make a proper assessment and release them or recommend a shelter. Better funding, better facilities of course, but you can't just ignore people who need help.

Oh get over yourself. Fix the system, yes. How and what parts is the challenge of course but if you're just here to complain about something you're unwilling to try to fix then you are the problem as much as the system is right now.

So just let people who need mental help fend for themselves then? Maybe fixing the standards and facilities is closer to the answer. Sorry for your experience, but we can't stop trying to help people who need it.

Well, the other extreme is to just let those unwilling or without the capacity to recognize they need mental help fend for themselves. That's cruelty in a different form. What's the solution?

$2.6m a day to charities from that club. Try giving back to your community some time, it'll help with that void in your life you are filling with this foolishness. Get you out of the house once in a while too, see real people and the such.

What a great imagination you have. It's like watching a 6 year old dream up realities to work through their problems. Fascinating really but the notifications are a little distracting and I have to work so have a great day!

I know a lot of GenX lefties, but I am in Kennedy country up here where we remember the dream and laugh at the nephew. Most are really not into politics or social media though (except for FB for convenience) so I can see where they aren't on anyone's radar that don't know them in person.
