Interesting! The letter is entertaining too.

There is also a Thurian Age map done by Francesca Baerald as a cover variant for Conan the Barbarian #9 last year that might be helpful. If you don't have the cover, she's posted high-res images here and elsewhere.

Welp, time to listen to this classic again after seeing your post.

"eleven long-haired Friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus" is still one of the funniest lyrics ever to me 😄

I'm not familiar with this store! I checked the men's grooming page to see if they had Jōvan, but they don't. I remember the "Swear by the sacred sword of Jōvan" ads because they used a Frazetta painting. I believe there was an animated TV commercial using the same ridiculous theme 😄

That was quite good. It took me most of the movie before I understood how the various plot threads were going to merge.

Great stuff! When I was a little kid, the local public radio station would rebroadcast old radio shows like Escape and Suspense every Saturday night. I heard the adaptation of a lot of short stories that way, before I even knew about the original written version.

Very informative! I enjoyed the page throughs. In addition to the amazing artwork in the March 1948 issue, The October Game, The Master of the Crabs, and The Professor's Teddy Bear is quite the trio of stories to have in the same issue 😲 The October Game is the darkest Bradbury story that I know of.
