THERE IS ZERO SUGGESTION LET ALONE EVIDENCE THAT DEI HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ACCIDENT! Nor would I expect it would. Rather it strongly appears that a number of factors lined up just so and the safety margins that protect us on a daily basis were eroded just enough to allow the accident to occur.

An investigation by an apolitical team of investigators will be conducted to determine what actions or procedures were causal in this event.

PAT25 An experienced Army crew flew their UH-60 along an established route that they had likely flown numerous times before. They utilized an established ATC procedure known as “Maintaining Visual Separation” to assume responsibility to see and avoid the airliner. As we know, that did not occur.

Regarding the accident, the two aircraft involved:
AA5324 - A fully qualified crew flew their CRJ-700 exactly as they had been cleared to do. They sadly appear to have been in the right place at precisely the wrong time.
