I think the ending and the post-credit scene should have been reversed. I think that would have been way more interesting and fun.

Every day I think I don't deserve to be happy and people are happy because I'm not involved in their lives.

It's a sad, twisted way to think and I hate that I'm like this. I find it disingenuous at best and cringe at worst.

I feel like a loser because I'm sad and I'm sad because I feel like a loser. I second guess everything I do and I get angry at myself because of it. I'm isolating myself because I don't want anyone to deal with me while also sad that I'm alone.

My sister is coming tomorrow and I can't wait because she's so awesome and is my best friend and I'm just feeling miserable currently.

And I know I'll go back to feeling awful when she leaves because the thought of her leaving made me sad.

This should only end in 3 ways:
-He dies as a result of the bird, either through accident or malicious intent (on either side)
-She leaves him for the bird
-The bird saves his life and he resolves to live with it peacefully

I hope it doesn't end the 3rd possible way:
-He's right and the bird leaves

It's so funny that Raven Beak is way more impactful as a character to the Metroid series not just because of how he was worked into Samus's background as yet another dad or that he had a clear motivation, but because he spent the whole game hyping himself up about how cool he was.
