Isn’t part of the problem that we are dazzled by people with money. The public gives undue weight to the opinions of billionaires. Just look at the influence that someone like Elon Musk has. Perhaps, all of us should pay less attention to billionaires and not put them on a pedestal.

Directors of US corporations have a fiduciary duty to maximize profits, typically benefiting only senior executive officers and large shareholders. One basic corporate governance change should be to broaden fiduciary duties to include welfare of employees and communities served by the corporations.

I drifted away from my Christian upbringing, but President Carter makes me want to re-examine Christianity and its teachings. Much admiration for his humility, grace & integrity. Is there something wrong with our political system since we can’t seem to find politicians with these traits nowadays?

President Carter promised never to lie to the American people, and he ended up being a one term president. Makes me wonder whether the American public can actually accept honesty from a politician. He was one of the few politicians I admired. RIP.
