Biden came into office and had one of the most robust recoveries from COVID worldwide, outpacing all other G7 nations.

Huge (5%+) GDP growth, lowest unemployement levels since 1969, wage growth outpacing inflation since 2022, I could go on.

Sadly most people voted on vibes instead of facts.
November 18, 2024 at 10:11 PM
You could make that argument, although I don't fully agree.

Would you agree that how these tax cuts were achieved, by deficit spending, meaning the government is spending more than it recieves, leading to an increase in national debt, is probably not the best way to achieve these tax cuts?
November 18, 2024 at 9:41 PM
Since you're pivoting to something else again, are you at least able to acknowledge that massive deficit spending before COVID, in a strong economy inherited from Obama, to give tax cuts to corporations and wealthy individuals, was probably a poor choice? Especially if you want to avoid inflation?
November 18, 2024 at 9:26 PM
The only thing that happened in 2016 was Trump deficit spending like crazy in order to artificially boost the economy and give tax cuts to corporations and higher-income individuals.

Over time this also massively contributed to inflation, which you pretend to care about.

Thank you for admitting you don't care about preserving democracy and everything the USA stands for.

I'm sure these tarrifs trump is talking about implementing, which are going to be paid directly by Americans, will lower your prices.
November 18, 2024 at 9:01 PM
It is by definition a pivot, you're not engaging with what I'm saying and deflecting to something else.

You haven't actually read the indictment, yet you're here gobbling on Trump's nutsack. You can't even acknowledge any wrongdoing from Trump when it's right in front of you. Truly a cult.
November 18, 2024 at 8:54 PM
Since you're pivoting to something else, do you at least acknowledge he did that? That Trump and his loyalists tried to overturn a legitimate election. Does that not concern you at all? I'm genuinely curious.

Again, I recommend reading the actual indictment, it's insanity.
November 18, 2024 at 8:20 PM
He did have a chance, and instead of uniting the country, he attempted to overturn the election results together with his numerous loyalists and allies. I recommend reading the indictment.

A true chance to lead for the country's good means respecting democratic processes, not undermining them.

In pretty much all my comments I've referred to the behaviour of the hooligans as appalling, disgusting, and the media response as one sided. Also that I have no sympathy for them.

My point is that violence shouldn't be the answer to violence. It's more telling that you choose to dismiss that.
November 17, 2024 at 3:57 PM
As I replied to someone else:

You can't go around attacking random people and demanding to see their passport, based on your own clouded judgement.

That should never be the answer.
November 17, 2024 at 1:57 PM
Neither do I have sympathy for these people, to be clear.

That said, I don't think bad behaviour from one side excuses arguably even worse behaviour from another side.

Even if they were all Maccabi fans (they weren't), it doesn't matter. Not every Maccabi supporter displayed appalling behavior.
November 17, 2024 at 1:57 PM
There isn't one argument Finkelstein managed to refute in 5 hours of conversation. He only threw insults.

How anyone can have this opinion is beyond me. Unless of course, they didn't watch it and just repeat talking points.
November 15, 2024 at 2:55 PM
I understand, and agree that it's bad that the initial reporting in the media was pretty one sided. Shouldn't have happened.

However, there's plenty of videos going around supporting these claims. For example: www.telegraaf.nl/video/856508...

And many more in Dutch media and alternative media.

The guy you replied to (Mariusz) instantly blocked me after I gave him soft pushback, maybe that's why?

It doesn't matter. Not every Maccabi supporter displayed appalling behavior.

You can't go around attacking random people and demanding to see their passport, based on your own clouded judgement.

You also can't set a tram with innocent people inside on fire with firework bombs the next day.
November 15, 2024 at 12:52 PM
As someone who lives in Amsterdam, it is absolutely not something to be expected, despite the appalling behaviour from Israeli hooligans.

Which is why it made headlines nationally and internationally.

Setting trams on fire with firework bombs the next day, also not something to be expected.
November 15, 2024 at 12:18 PM
As disgusting as that might be, it's not an excuse for scooter gangs to go on a Jew hunt, check people's passports and beat them up.
November 15, 2024 at 11:59 AM
As someone who lives in Amsterdam, it is the capital of the Netherlands. The Hague is home to the Dutch government, but not the capital.
