not sure if itd be worth trying for this but i've toyed around with comparing depth to itself but offset a bit in a direction for highlights in compositing? could work for an outline if it were all around maybe. Idrk how resource intensive stuff like that is for a game though.

people might see it in searching for specific tags. and some feeds people use might pull from specific tags. not sure if that's what you mean tho

I also think its a bit annoying that people compare engagement at all though, better or worse. I have issues trusting people, especially online, where there's this constant fear of my attention being commodified and that I'm being tricked somehow because of it. I just want to interact casually.

I know bluesky was pretty much marketed as twitter but without the evil guy, but i still think it makes sense to give it its own chance.

I remember artists moving to artfol as a replacement for maybe instagram?? I'm not sure. but a lot of people left pretty quickly, not understanding that its honestly probably more comparable to newgrounds than instagram. People weren't looking for the kind of community it actually promised.

there's been a decent few social media platforms that either pop up or become popular because of an existing one doing something controversial. I think seeing them as a replacement and not their own thing threatens to doom them before they've got a chance to get going.
