Started to properly get into research for the panel and turns out that having an author as a main source of truth is useful when you look for a nice piece of family lore because he wrote about it. Anyway. Gonna be a good week of going through stuff.

Been enjoying the sun to go touch some grass and walk the anxiety off. Getting there. More walking happening in the near future. Writing a bit. Prepping for some open calls and panels.

The internet tells me this is a pussy willow, and yeah maybe, but who knows. This random tree grew in a bit of soil and has only been properly potted for the past month. We'll see if it's a willow or maybe a blackberry tree or maybe a linden. Google Lens is not sure yet and I for sure have no idea.

How dare I put her in a crate and have her stabbed by a stranger? (We went to the vet and she had an antibiotic shot) - according to the vet, looks like a small infection that should disappear over the week. If not this gremlin will need to go back, get sedated and be examined more closely.

Vet time tomorrow for Mx Izzy Hands. It had been too chill a year, bit of drama was necessary.

I suspected my oaks would enjoy the change of scenery (from 8L pots to 30L pots with fresh soil) but i didn't expect to see such wild enthusiasm. New bark and branches growth within 10 days. 🌳

But is it really a problem if I managed to do a test panelled skirt with elastic band from scratch (aka from cutting the pattern to wearing it) in under 6h when I didn't know how to thread a machine until last July? Buzzing. Also really like the flow of the cut so looking forward to making a few.

I went to sewing class and advanced on my sundress. Then I came home and started on the skirt with a cheap cotton to see 'if I can start from scratch on my own' ... Babes,I think I have problem ... 😂

This long weekend was also me trying on a project solo instead of in sewing class and so maybe just maybe I made a fuckton of scrunchies. Room for improvement but slowly finding the right elastic to fabric ratio.

Discovered a mini tree. May be in tilleul which I learned is linden in English. Absolutely delighted to see something took root and grew out of a forgotten pot filled with barely any soil. Looking forward to see it grow 🪴

Second step done! Baby oaks have been moved from 8L pots (which should have been changed last year but life took over) to 30L pots so I think they gonna have a good spring time. Also did some anarchist sowing in my other pots. Looking forward to see the wildflowers 🌱
