... yes I am sending an email to the Active Transport team now. I've flagged this in prior seasons.

Worst part.. the driving lanes are on their map :(

Another winter of the Blatchford paths open and them not appearing on the Snow & Ice map from CoE.

The other little red, drove past it last night, that's the hole in the sidewalk for the network build out but is not filled (snow clearing will be a major PIA here).

With the end of the construction season being announced, I'm worried about this hole remaining until next year. It means a full winter of detours and lack of proper clearing from CoE.

Those pylons are on the edges of said hole. Someone is at risk of injury here.

And I'm throwing in the towel. Winter bike is going to the shop due to the front derailleur and my cable tool not cutting cables well (it dulled 🤷‍♀️). It is rideable in a pinch but definitely needs an indexing and that front shifter working.

Plus a mechanic once over couldn't hurt. 🥲

Bit of a positive win on this Monday morning. I ticked over 3,000 km on my annual bike riding. I do track all my activities on the bike, no matter what. A good portion of this is commuting too, so that's MANY car trips done by two wheels.

First year in a while too to hit over that number.

While my winter bike isn't ready to go (it made me mad, I need to finish repairs) holiday lights are a must. I'm hitting my third winter of riding and they improve my mood SO MUCH.

Canadian Tire has the best ones and are usually fairly affordable. They work to ultra cold with no problems!

Some photos past the dumb T intersection with dual slip lanes.

Maybe some Kingsway missing link / active transport SUP construction is actually happening? They made the holes in the sidewalk sometime in the last week. Pylons are newer addition to the lane closures.

Please excuse the video I am not professional. 😂 @yegbike.bsky.social

The ebike could have parked like how Nick and I did and there would have still been room for more. Would have been able to securely lock wheels and everything.

Look I know these racks aren't great but boy do I DISLIKE this park job. Means that maybe two other bikes could park on the better of the two outside Safeway.

I'd recommend either using the ends like my State OR lift over the U to park tighter to the rack.

I hope it's been bumped to nothing much until next summer. I am so worried that it's going to sit with a trench and no sidewalk all winter. It's a selfish concern as I use it on my daily commutes.

Looking at the last update, it could still happen but I am so doubtful.

Doing some drilling along the north sidewalk on Kingsway. Was there a pedestrian detour sign back at the cross lights? No. Can you see if it's a full blockage from said cross lights? No.

Did I hop off and use the car lane on my bike? Yes. Am very annoyed.

Ah yes, time for the reminder that I need to check for water in my bike's brake cable. It was frozen on the way to work today so I guess I'm doing bike maintenance at lunch.

It pools at the BB area after entering from the caliper end. Great bike, not ideal brake line setup.

I know it won't really stick but I procrastinated too much on my winter bike. Guess I'm banished to the garage on Saturday. Snow is coming.

🥲

(And do partners bike too)

Quick run to the big box store to get some paint and miscellaneous house supplies. I was quite impressed that the paint didn't feel too heavy. If anything one on both sides would have been much easier to ride with.

The Gravel bike, axiom rack and Bontrager City Shoppers make quick errands easy.

Measured the rooms, cleaned the floors and reinstalled the registers. Something got splattered on the walls so that will be a task for another day.

Also made terrible drawing notes of my measurements 😂

Productive day off!

It's so fun! I've done a handful of trips with not much for specialty gear. Regular panniers, backpacking gear and the gravel bike. It is so fun to pedal your butt to a campground.

This is 2023's setup and I've since upgraded to a more packable sleeping bag.

Sometimes you just gotta take advantage of some late season nice weather. The trees were beautiful, drivers were relatively polite and hangs with cool people!

Tail wind on Valor helped a bunch. I usually have a shitty headwind there.

In the final stages of prep ahead of flooring installation next week. I had to stop as I was losing my mind trying to screw down the subfloor for squeaks.

But I did get this plywood up with minimal electrical tools. A circular saw would have helped but 🤷‍♀️.

Getting so close!!

Bikes are amazing. Club rides with friends through beautiful tree lined streets on bike infrastructure even more awesome.

Work and such has just been a lot lately. Tonight's club ride is one of those highlight ones that cures some stresses.

Today was the first full day back at work. I think my watch picked that fact up as well.

🥲

Looks like we get to skunk proof our yard. Happened to look at the backyard camera this morning and found a skunk hustling away from a neighbours cat along the garage.

Never thought I'd see a skunk on our camera! Must have been munching on raspberries 😂

Might be one of my highest, or the highest, distance biked in a month. Bike packing and booting around town for everyday things add up!

Here's Kingsway as of Monday July 29. It's a time lapse but gets the point across. No flagging or paint. Only noticable change was the removal of trees in front of Chateau Nova.
