Many of Freud's contributions to psychology are very cis-heteronormative & rooted in an inherent belief of the gender binary. It would be interesting to explore ideas like the Oedipus Complex, penis envy, and other similar concepts in queer or gender-nonconforming individuals to see if they hold up.
