This is so silly but I immediately like got these results with ChatGPT first try.
I'm not saying you don't have a point - you definitely do. But I think the tools have surpassed some of the older markers for progress.

I really never got sculpting in blender, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I know I went detailed too early, but the retopo looks okay.

I know this is all part of modeling faces, especially anime faces, but I always lose it at this "mask" stage.

like I'm following the turnaround reference to a T and the turnaround looked really cute but sometimes there's a point in modeling stylized animu bodies where it looks like the thorax of some strange insect with boobahs

I have a kiddo who *loves* horror (like their mom) and so I find myself juggling different projects of conflicting aesthetics.
I don't mind, ever.
But his is based off the "Silent Stalker" Slenderman mask and mine is just your average cutie patootie anime girl.
