Okay /this/ is the line that really stuck out and solidified for me (and again PLEASE don't eat me alive, this is not a condemnation of Cahciua's character as a whole) that there was, in all likelihood, unintentional neglect, in the form of Cahciua's desire to travel/explore.

LIKE the fact that Erenville /immediately/ feels comfortable enough to share this with us, if you click on him...And the way it's phrased, like he's frustrated enough to stumble over and not finish his sentences...At some point he and the WoL became very close.
