Built, sold & rebuilt. 20+ years business online. Now turning boring ideas into real businesses.

Dad of http://Lagnis.com (Never Down Again, Monitor up to 1000 sites)
It's easy to copy an app.
It's hell to copy the distribution.

If you want to create an app empire like I'm starting to do:
- Don't be afraid of copying anymore.
- Learn how to distribute apps.
- Start following me now.

Scheduling is both wonderful and weird.
If I die today, I'll keep posting for a while.

Is it a form of immortality if I schedule indefinitely?
August 11, 2025 at 8:47 AM
We're going on vacation in 3 days (a friend's wedding and then vacation)...

So I'm not going to be able to ship.

I had this deadline before publishing my app...

Option A.
I curl up in the fetal position and cry.

Option B.
I cancel the wedding and vacation.

Your problem isn't:
- Your idea
- Your market
- Your strategy

Your real problem is:
- You're not doing what's necessary

It's like losing weight; we ALL know what to do.

It's the same in business; we all know what to do.

But few have the courage to do boring things for long.

Back to #buildinpublic today.

As a reminder, my goal is to build an app empire.

It'll take years, but my first app is almost finished.

As Adam Lyttle suggests in his videos, my app engine can be used for new apps.

I've already identified several markets (a little less than ten).

My last build session was on Friday.

It was only 2 hours.
Glad to be back at it.

Hello Monday!
Hello builders!

- We don't see you as much these days...
- Oh yeah?

If you doubt, then try this:

1. Ask yourself what could happen in the best and worst cases. The worst case scenario almost never happens.

2. Take more action, because the more you doubt, the more you overthink, which is the worst obstacle.

Just smile.
Work is hard, life is hard...
but it's also extraordinary if you make the effort to smile a little.

As Dumbledore said: “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

I hate voice notes on WhatsApp... but!

I'm coding my first iOS app here, and there's a use case where it seems much more logical for the user to dictate their message than to type it (but I'm leaving that option open).

Don't let your own usage patterns cause you to miss out on a top-notch UX.

Agencies that only offer one-off services are suicidal,
when all they need is...

All they need is to offer complementary services on a recurring basis.

- Support client (Crisp)

- Managed cloud hosting

- Monthly SEO optimization

- Uptime monitoring (Lagnis)

My Entrepreneur Journey:
5% code
95% marketing

If you prefer the opposite, go back to 9-5 (and it's ok).

If you have a SaaS, this will interest you.
I'm testing the Reddit ad for Lagnis (Uptime Monitoring), $10 a day with this angle: "Free Status Pages. Blazing-Fast Monitoring. All in One."
+ a screenshot.

This will link directly to the Sign Up page.

Chance of profitability of Wow Effect projects without an audience:
1/1000

Chance of profitability of boring projects without an audience:
50/1000

Don't look for hype, you're an entrepreneur, not a summer hit singer.

There are only 2 types of products.

1. Universal products.

Example:
- Crisp
- Lagnis
- LinkedIn
- Easy Hoster

They can be used by an incredible variety of people.

This is a strong advantage, because every site has a need for hosting, communicating with customers, monitoring, etc.

The graphic redesign (for marketing purposes) continues for Lagnis.
Here, the blog.

From shadow to light.

Everyone has a website, but few monitor it. Because they don't know this (it's killed more businesses than the recession):

Monitoring is like a good lawyer.

We hope we never need one.

And in the end, we don't have time to find the right one when we have problems.
July 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Next time you use Lagnis for free and you won't lose any more money/reputation.

Trade secret: There are few counterproductive marketing actions.

The majority will have no effect.

Useless.

Or invisible.

Or very little impact.

Marketing is rarely a masterstroke; it's a set of actions.

A set of actions within a clear plan, which together have an effect.
July 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM
Never comment on LinkedIn.

Or on X.

Commenting on LinkedIn, and elsewhere, is very dangerous.

You risk being visible.

If you're searched by Interpol, it's a risk.

Otherwise:
- You gain visibility
- You gain visibility
- You gain visibility
- You gain visibility
