Luckily I can actually save a fair amount from Mati/Ren’s chapters but there is still a lot of work to be done to restructure the plot.
I think this is the right call to make for the stories. Lily and Azyr deserve their epic fantasy and I don’t think I can do it justice yet.

I did also fully rewatch Midnight Mass last night too. Can’t wait until next year for another rewatch lol

There are questions I do want answers to, and while I’m not super invested in Helena, I’m curious about what happened with Luc. I enjoy some of the horror aspects with necromancy and Not-Voldemort’s decay. That’s really all so far though… hopefully it gets better.

I have a plethora of other complaints too but man. . . I need to learn that if a book is super hyped I’m probably not going to love it. Which isn’t to say Alchemised is all bad. There are some aspects I’m enjoying.

Why do I feel like I’m suddenly reading this worlds version of Genesis and it has no immediate relevancy. And seemingly no real relevancy to the plot as a whole right now. It feels like it’s added in just for the author to be like “SEE I MADE A UNIQUE WORLD! ITS NOT FIC ANYMORE!”

Why do I feel like I’m suddenly reading this worlds version of Genesis and it has no immediate relevancy. And seemingly no real relevancy to the plot as a whole right now. It feels like it’s added in just for the author to be like “SEE I MADE A UNIQUE WORLD! ITS NOT FIC ANYMORE!”
This book absolutely did not need to be 1000 pages. The prose is so clunky at times and I’m not one to usually complain about “info dumping” but the world building feels so disjointed and unnatural.
