There's swamp in my thing, there's thing in my swamp.
Never really has any bit of fun with the property, although Ray Wise seemed to be having a blast. I kept getting a feeling that this could have been a multi season 80s TV show with how it looked and how the acting was.

Slappy: The Beginning
The pressures of mental health with careers, pleasure, and just living life can manifest in many possible ways, we see how Corky and Fats handle it... it's not well.
Some very fine acting and directing, with an often melancholy and sinister soundtrack.

A weird movie from the get go, and a big change from the first movie. It now being a complete comedy made it tougher to connect with the characters and their situation, but it was fun.
Many designs are pretty cool, especially that stop-motion horse

Very surreal and fairy tale-like, which absolutely nails what they were going for.
Those transformation sequences are extremely brutal, wow.
Overall, pretty fun for a re-imagining of a classic tale. Oh, and Angela Lansbury is just icing on the cake.

After not liking 28 Weeks Later, this is such a fantastic turnaround for the series.
What starts off as a typical zombie movie, then takes a big shift when Dr. Kelson is introduced. That entire act was so effectively sad.
Then that ending. Oh my god, amazing!

The best theme song I've heard from any movie ever! A relatively quiet film, but once it kicks in, you know something is gonna hit the fan.
Once everything starts coming together in the third act, it gets so damn good. Love that ending!
Those were also some great blood effects.

It's a great set up for a horror movie and the gore effects were very good. However, the pacing is off at times, and the climax just doesn't feel like it is the climax. The ending falls flat, but the alt ending and deleted scenes help answer many questions.

The twist is obvious within the first minute. The stories they adapted just didn't seem like those that need to be in a movie like this. And worst of all, it was so dull.

Having the setting of the movie be in a theater stage was wonderful. It had some genuinely nice shots and some of the effects on the killings were impressive.
Not to mention that 80s charm, especially in that soundtrack.

Now I might not be too sure, but I think there might be some innuendo in this.
A movie where they throw just about any gag in that they can think of. This shows how much fun 80s movies could be when they just let everything hang out
Love you forever, Elvira

My god, those monsters? They were brawlin'
A huge step down from the original, but I will admit that those miniatures and puppets were just so precious.
The lore of this being a different Godzilla through me for a loop. Still love that goofy goober of a look though

Had no idea that this was a horror comedy, that caught me off guard and had so many funny scenes.
Really wish marketing didn't ruin the surprise with Abigail from the very beginning, but regardless, all the characters and acting were great!

This has a bopper of an intro. Very fun!
These anthology movies need two versions. One showing the stories, and the other showing the person telling the stories as they give all of the excruciating details as to what's happening. What I wouldn't give for that version.

An absolute classic. If this as one-and-done, it'd be fondly remembered today as a very campy movie with a surprising killer. We all know where this goes, but this really is a great introduction for the series.

Trust. That's the toughest concept for so many people. This movie embodies that idea to its fullest intent. You don't know who to trust, what to trust, and heck, even when to trust. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, and that ending is such a doozy.

The puppets were awesome!
Yeah....yeah, that's about it.

Even though the central theme was about mental health and confronting your past and present, it felt like they could have done so much more with that. Some high marks are the visuals, which give some pretty good scares, and the acting from the leads.

It takes literally half the movie to finally start kicking in, but when it does, it's a lot of fun. The low budget is felt in a lot of areas, but the pandemonium later on makes you forget that and just sit back and enjoy the ride.
The highlight is those mask designs.

That was great! It felt like a roller coaster of feelings and emotions, but it all came together so well. That reveal and event about midway through caught me off guard, and it was fantastic! And that ending was so dang satisfying.
Props to that Akira slide
