Then around 2am, as I was getting ready for bed, I realized that it was behaving as though I'd never fixed the problem in the first place. So I checked and found that I simply had never deployed the fix.

Like, this is the step that *least* needs a human. I'm inputting two numbers: my card number and the amount. Why are we wasting a person's time with this? Why do I have to wait in a queue to do this?
