I'm not a great morning person. I can get going but I'm usually pretty grumpy about it. Brunch however... that's always a wonderful start.

I'm definitely a home-body type but if I happen upon a bakery spot I've never tried, I will definitely do a sample box.

It's always a little bummer when a light I use gets discontinued but with hurricane season right around the corner thought I'd test out one of its potential replacements. Nitecore MT1A Pro (Left). Lighter, and a bit easier to pocket carry. Nitecore MT10A (right) was my old handy light.

Sharing comfort foods with friends is one of my favorite Saturday options. Roasted brussels sprouts will always be a thing.

So it has been probably years since I baked these. After playing with shortbread cookies i wanted to try doing the same with an old biscotti recipe. Macadamia Nut/Cacao biscotti. might have underbaked them a bit, or I need to cut the slices just a bit thinner. Not bad first test though.

Finally able to record a run during a USPSA match. Lot of rust to shake off, lotta misses :/ but it's been great learning.

Acceptable accuracy in shooting sports is always a difficult thing to answer. First USPSA match of the year for me is coming up in a week and I'm trying to work on maintaining that A-zone sized spread but my grip went to pot over the break.

Focusing on trying to record and analyze more shooting footage as matches resume for 2025. Feel like I lost a lot of my recoil control and grip over the break.

A few things from my safety prep (particularly living in a hurricane zone). Roughly every 6 months I top off and check all the batteries for critical gear, also check for leaky ones in the hurricane kit. Do you have a routine?

I am generally not festive, at all. I do wish people well, I hope that folks get a little something that makes their Xmas bright. I'm probably going to just enjoy a dinner with family and maybe journal a bit as I reflect on 2024 and try to focus on the start of 2025.

Admittedly while I really enjoyed the old GoPros for other things, for the shooting sports I'm finally taking the plunge and going to try this Insta360 GO mounted to a hat cam.

Some folks might find it weird, but I've generally tried to check my hurricane/emergency supplies every six months. Spot check for leaky batteries, expired medication, expired freeze dried food. Do you have an emergency prep routine?

I somehow completely forgot to post anything for Thanksgiving day. I'm finding smaller simpler Thanksgiving meals to be a lot easier on my mental health. No full bird, just turkey legs roasted. Saves time, let me enjoy hanging out w/my mother a lot more.

I'm absolutely not the sort to do Black Friday chaos after Thanksgiving. Who knows, maybe I'll just goof off with some Forza.
