Yeah exactly. Likes are stable. Imho I don't think we would be seeing a downturn in engagement if videos were served to less people. It would be down across the board. So yeah, "view" is different maybe. Just the number shown is lower, whatever that is caused by.

This last one is very interesting. Reverse calculating viewership here in green based on average RPV, we can see that views are supposed to be within normal ranges. Meaning that absolutely the "worth" of a view has shot up by 40%. IMHO at this time I do not think 'viewership' is down at all.

That sounds right on the money for one of my two things it could be. Views are down 40%. Like ratio is up 40%. Revenue is stable. CPM and RPM are stable. RPV is up with Like Ratio. CPM and RPM reported have no correlation to views.

Congrats! I'm sure they will be understanding. Next week I'm going to reach out to our sponsors and get their CTRs. It will be interesting if they have seen a hit. Beyond that I think it's a sponsor reeducation thing if this is what views are like platform wide. I want people to have hope right now.

Sentiment is a dangerous game right now. Personally I didn't get a notification for the "YouTube broke" video and I have notifications on for SecondWind set to All. Our fans complain about our members content, and the quality of our garbage. But you have Patreon, and your quality is great.

Views to revenue remains statistically correlated, and so nothing really has changed on that end. The per-view payout remains the same as before.

2. They are only showing videos to more "engaged" viewers who like and watch more, also meaning they are worth more, but those video views are accurate. Which explains why total likes is stable and the like ratio is going up.

Nuts isn't it?
I have 2 theories.
1. They have changed what a "view" is and they are only showing the number of that view. But it does not mean that less people are viewing. Just the number is being displayed.
That means they are worth more to advertisers.

This one here is an overlay of reversing our calculated average RPV to calculate "expected" viewership based on video revenue which is in green. Seems to be more in line with expected viewer numbers.
September 6, 2025 at 2:06 AM
My chart here is based off our per-video revenue. You should try and calculate an RPV like I did on the bottom chart. Just basically expected revenue/view count. You might have seen that gone up. If not, then it may actually be lower viewership.

Yes and no. Findings are complicated but I'm still working through data. Some channels are effected and some are not. But our view drop is identical to a few other channels. Issue is I am not sure if views are actually dropping.

Please gimme a DM. I work for Linus Tech Tips and want to share some findings with you guys but we think it should be private for now. We have also seen similar viewership drops exactly the same as yours.
