Which is awful and can't be allowed. Also in my province there is a very healthy community for people like my sister to plan field trips and education focused events with others. Not everywhere has those support systems though, so it's a tricky thing to really say is inherently good or bad.

so her kids are lucky she actually values them getting the proper education. Some parents.. not so much. So strict regulations are an absolute necessity, without it you run into parents abusing the system so their kids aren't properly educated, often for religious or anti science reasons. 3/

In Canada if you are homeschooling you have to follow the curriculum and have checkins and testing to make sure you are actually doing so. My sister is homeschooling her elementary school kids due to multiple of her kids having ADHD and being treated poorly by peers and teachers after covid 1/
