I’m in a new union (formed 2022, first contract 2024) and we do not have a pension. Fighting back uphill after all that was lost is…a huge undertaking. (That does not mean it is unworthy)

Not belittling NOAA, it’s vital and likely made a huge contribution—but I’d also like to see how much Great Lake freighter traffic we had pre-1975 vs now. There’s a lot less industry in the Rust Belt these days.
