I’m in a new union (formed 2022, first contract 2024) and we do not have a pension. Fighting back uphill after all that was lost is…a huge undertaking. (That does not mean it is unworthy)

Not belittling NOAA, it’s vital and likely made a huge contribution—but I’d also like to see how much Great Lake freighter traffic we had pre-1975 vs now. There’s a lot less industry in the Rust Belt these days.

I don’t think that will do it in NY, they’ll see it as one fewer obstacle for them to install who they want in primaries generally.

I’d do the same if NY didn’t positively neuter the voting power of anyone outside of the Dem party.
