An opinion that may get me torched, pitchforked, tarred, and/or feathered, by the audiophile crowd but: broadly, generally, and in most cases, probably not and, unless you're using incredibly sensitive/expensive gear, the more expensive cable may even make it possibly be worse.

Polybrute envy, too. This has to stop. 😭

... I really dig the Mk2 and even after such a short time with it, I couldn't get rid of it if I wanted to at this point. Roland's latest update just feels awfully lopsided for a subset of a subset of users for a major version jump. The Serato "ad" during startup feels kinda lame too lol

... and these are just the ones that jump to mind after spending only a couple weeks with it. I haven't even begun to dive into additional FX modules or utilities (VU meter? Tuner?) or the plethora of other possible QoL tweaks (Solo pads? Actual fixed length recording instead of just End Snap?)

4. Make individual step editing less obnoxious in TR REC mode

5. Default TR REC velocity to PAD instead of 90

6. Sidechaining (I don't even care about this one, personally, but it's so commonly requested that it would obviously find broad use immediately)

...

*Finally* started actually learning to *use* the Mk2 yesterday, so I'll call this Day 2 (technically) & I really dig this thing! The FX, the lack of bells and whistles that forces you to kind of go head-down-and-do-shit, the quirks & the jank & idiosyncrasies are just right.

ZERO buyer's remorse. 🤌
