Yes! Universal public education must be seen as a social good, like fire departments or transit infrastructure. An educated populace is essential for democratic governance in an increasingly complex world. Greater individual opportunity is just a desirable side effect of that, not the point of it.
And the need to take back the education narrative. Public education builds so much more than the individualized human capital story allows us to appreciate.

Great example of what’s wrong with the nominal opposition: taking the enemy’s claims at face value—no, that’s not right. It’s taking the enemy’s claims as authoritative.
Love to see the "Progressive Policy Institute" cite, as a reliable factual source, a Washington Examiner op-ed from an AEI senior fellow.

We need to throw these people out of their roles guiding the Democratic Party, their brains are not equipped for a world filled with right-wing propaganda.
