Soryu Forall explores prapañca. He reveals how even our best intentions can become harmful when we cling to fixed views. He teaches an inquiry practice: “How is this wrong? How is this not even wrong?” Soryu invites us onto a path of release from prapañca.

Prajñapti means designation—the labels our mind gives to reality. In Yogācāra & Madhyamaka teachings, existence itself is seen as mere designation.

Parikalpita means imputation—projecting what isn’t there onto what is. We often mistake our ideas about something for the thing itself. True clarity comes when we start seeing what’s really there.

Vikalpa means imaginings—mistaking thoughts for reality.
In Chinese (妄想, wàng xiǎng) & Japanese (mōsō), it points to confused or false thinking. It’s the mind spinning stories that aren’t true.

Saṃjñā means perception—but perception isn't always reality. We often see things that aren’t really there—and miss things that are. Our minds add layers, creating a world of illusions.

Saṃskārā is the process by which we mentally produce things and the things we produce. We create opinions, views, and concepts—and then cling to them.
