That’s a favorite of mine too! I’ve used it for my phone background off and on since you posted it the first time around! 😁

Some of them are probably the same exact people tbh.

it’s definitely not the only solution. Players absolutely need to push for better community standards too. But WotC should be a stronger part of that if the MTG community is still having problems (which it sounds like they are). Best of luck!

The thing is, that even if they don’t directly oversee an event, they can still put a lot of soft pressure on the stores that run them. Again, I’ve been on the inside of this when I ran the Pokemon league through WOTC and later Pokemon, Inc.

Requiring official MTG clubs/events to follow guidelines, and actually enforcing those, would go a long way. Strongly encouraging unofficial events to follow the same guidelines, and setting it up as the official standard of behavior in the MTG community would definitely help regulate the community.

I ran a Pokemon league, and played competitively for many years, and WotC can actually do a lot. It wouldn’t be immediate stuff, but things like inclusive set design and regulating official environments can go a long way to nudging unofficial environments to be at least *more* welcoming.
