The heroes inside the assembly who protected their democracy against ARMED military, in the middle of the fucking night, not knowing what would happen, but determined to protect the bastion of freedom that is the National Assembly deserve ALL the respect.

Not only were the politicians (the ones present) unanimous in their decision to stop the martial law, but we should not forget the unsung heroes. The people on the streets AND especially the assembly staff who, against all things, barricaded themselves inside the assembly AND fought the military +
thank god korean politicians still have some sense.. i fear this wouldve gone very differently in the US
