Justin Obikwu's Trinidad and Tobago were eliminated from World Cup qualification last night, while Dexter Lembikisa sees his hopes of travelling hanging in the balance. Trinidad and Jamaica met in a must-win game for the former, while the Reggae Boyz were relying on results elsewhere, giving them a hand. The first half drifted by without much drama, yet the visitors struck early in the second period when Renaldo Cephas timed his run perfectly, cut inside from the left, and rolled a cool finish into the bottom corner.

'Defend that' is one of the aggressive challenges I face when we're on a bad run. It's usually one of the same few faces on the internet, but I get it at games as well. 'How are you going to write that up' was one challenge I got on the way out last night. The answer? 'Probably won't'. I was upset after the defeat.

Assistant head coach Tom Shaw has signed a contract extension with the Imps, securing his future with the club until the summer of 2029. Shaw has been with the Imps for eight years, coaching in the Academy prior to taking on the role as first team coach in 2022. Lincoln City and Burton Albion have built up a curious rivalry in recent years, with results swinging dramatically between the two clubs. In competitive meetings, the record is remarkably even. Lincoln City have appointed former Peterborough United figure Bobby Copping as the club’s new head of commercial. Copping arrives at the Bank with a growing reputation for innovation and engagement in the football business world, following a premature end to his playing career in 2021. At just 19, the defender was forced to retire after suffering two mini seizures, but he’s since forged a successful off-pitch path in the game.

At the end of last season, I concluded that we'd only need one signing in one position to be a decent outfit in League One once again. A week into pre-season training, and three days shy of our first friendly, we're still looking for that player at left back. We could go out right now and be competitive, aside from our lack of a left-back.

Recently, an unnamed League One club have had two bids rejected for Salford City defender Haji Mnoga, with the Ammies determined to keep hold of the Tanzania international. It has now been reported by Alan Nixon that City are the unnamed club who lodged the offers for the 23-year-old, as first reported by Football Insider. The right-back, who began his career with Portsmouth, featured 33 times in League Two last season after joining Salford permanently in August 2024.

One thing that is hugely important is to remember where you have come from. Nobody should live in the past, and it isn't always easy to shake the cloak of previous events. Sometimes, it really pays to get some perspective, and with that in mind, I'd like to revisit one of the very worst days I have ever had at Sincil Bank.
