A page of text that reads ; Tree of Deuil: The Tree of Deuil is a large and old mango tree located in the centre of the colonies. The soil around the tree is used as a burial ground for the deceased. The name comes from the Shrub colony goddess, Deuil. She controls death and the circle of life from prey to cat. The tradition of burying the dead under the Tree of Deuil comes from the belief that the roots use the bodies to create fruit for both the cats and the prey of the island. Cats buried here are said to be giving back to their home and loved ones even in death. Once cats are dead and buried they're believed to have a peaceful rest until they decompose, with joyful dreams and happy thoughts. When the roots reach the body Deuil may carry them to a limbo where deceased family and loved ones walk them to The Evergreen, a feild of bluebells where spirits can relax, talk and watch over the living. This feild is where the phrase "alowe bluebells" comes from, which is a more respectful way cats can refer to the dead. Although spirits love their families and friends, looking back on all their memories with them fondly, they are not able to miss anyone or feel sorrow, the dead have a strong sense of acceptance and tranquility.
