It is legitimately so useful to do that. They also are sort of unofficially paused on the naming screen when they are born so sometimes I leave it there until I'm ready to care for them.

I have an older tamagotchi connection pair I've kept alive for 2 years and it is entirely abt timing when you're raising them. Theres also a sort of unofficial pause when you manualy change the time?? So that helps.
