When I was researching my book on blackface throughout the British Empire, *several* Brits both insisted that blackface was a US thing *and* that they remembered the BBC’s Black and White Minstrel Show fondly.
My book Transoceanic Blackface: Empire, Race, Performance is available from Northwestern University Press.
It maps the global history of blackface, minstrelsy, and related forms of racialized performance such as brownface and yellowface.

Nope, just a whole lot of really creepy folks talking about how 16 isn’t as bad as 6 and being more concerned about semantics and word usage than literal crime and assault and treating people like property and dehumanization

Like are we talking about voting rights? Anti-genital mutation? Legal access to medically approved practices? The fact that they can’t drink but can sign up for military and get married? Lack of access to cbd and thc. Lack of ability to escape harmful social situations easily and self advocate?
