“Resources for households in the lowest decile of the income distribution would decrease by about $1,600 per year (in 2025 dollars).” By contrast, “Resources would increase, on average…by about $12,000 for households in the highest decile, amounting to 2.3 percent of their projected income.”

Folks must reach out to Congress to express their frustration with the budget bill currently being considered. A Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis released June 12 indicated that the bill, if passed, will add fuel to the economic inequality fire.

The Department of Public Health has partnered with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt to provide medical debt relief for low-income Los Angeles County residents with unpaid medical bills. Residents do not need to apply for the Medical Debt Relief Program.
