But what about the teacher? They put questions on there that were too hard. We do want to solve environmental problems, but we need to wait until some other country solves them first. We engaged in political corruption, but what about some other political party? They are even worse. A chart showing an overview of Whataboutism. Type, red herring. Definition 1: an argument that a wrong isn't wrong because of some other wrong. Definition 2: the suggestion that it is hypocrisy to criticise a wrong without first criticizing another wrong. Typical use: deflecting criticism and defending the status quo.
