Pokémon Scarlet/Violet are a great introduction, with the sadly enormous asterisk that they have a lot of well documented problems on a technical level. Personally I'd recommend not sleeping on the "of Mana". I had a lot of fun with the recent Visions of Mana.

Head clearly as empty as every other WoL though…

It feels a little unfair to say they are the best video game movies I've seen because that's a category that has generally set a low bar and the Sonic movies are well above just being good by those standards.
