4 years ago today I still had 84 returns to prepare by 4/15. Today I have 8. I’m never going back to that kind of stress. I’m so very thankful.

I’m behind. I just am. I think I can be caught up by the end of next week. But the good news is, between 3 preparers, we only have 45 returns that have to be prepared by 4/15. We’ll work ahead after those returns are completed. It just feels good to not have the stress of so many returns to prep.

The year is going great so far. The reason Randy Cannon’s initials (ROC) aren’t showing is because he is so ahead of schedule. He’s working on returns that we said we’d have prepped by 3/21/25. Returns for clients who were scheduled to give us their tax docs this week.

My Dad passed in December, but we’re very thankful for his 91 yrs. So December was kind of awful. Our team was so gracious to offer waiting until January for our holiday celebration. It was low key this year but lots of fun. The Dust Bowl has 1970s bowling alley vibes (without smoking) 😂

Our industry needs to change. We can structure our practice and control our workflow and work normal hours year-round. You CAN have a life and be a tax preparer. 2025 will be our third year to do it.
