And so our reaction to his column… calling out the whitewashing, etc… is as much a product of that reality as anything. I mean, Klein brings up Hillary’s comment about a “basket of deplorable…” These were the stickers the Spokane Valley GOP was handing out afterward at a watch party.

As expected, President Trump’s budget proposal contains the Harris Rider language that prohibits the District from legalizing and regulating adult use cannabis.

This is particularly troubling though, and suggests that @thirdway.bsky.social thinks transgender issues played a much larger role in the election than they actually did. I’ve yet to see any poll— swing voter or not— showing that transgender issues had any real salience in the election.

I suppose I’m glad that Josh understands that there is “no moral equivalency between the two sides” but even suggesting that “policing our language” is a problem is asinine. Transgender people are asking for the same respect we expect for ourselves. That’s it.

It can’t be said enough that the federal government saves NOTHING by forcing the District to cut around a billion dollars of our local FY25 budget (with six months left in the FY). Those cuts would, however, have a steep cost to District residents.

@alsobrooks.senate.gov filed an amendment to the continuing resolution (HR 1968) that would authorize the District to spend at FY25 levels so we would not have to cut a billion dollars from our FY25 budget in the next six months. Thank you Senator for standing with the District!

Glad to see @murray.senate.gov highlighting the devastating impact the House Republican’s continuing resolution would have on District government.
