I do understand why people have this point of view. I guess I just put more emphasis on who you’ve played. The paths are not equal. That’s why the Ivy League champ in basketball doesn’t get a 1 seed in the tournament.

The competition quality is not the same and you know it…. Boise did go undefeated against a G5 schedule. Their one loss is because they’re willing to schedule up.
Over 13 games, the quality Boise played is nowhere near what any other Top 10 team played. This is common sense backed up by numbers…

Not if that 13-0 team is from a G5 conference. The Top 10 teams in the rankings would all go undefeated against a G5 schedule.

I 💯 agree with removing the bye’s for conference champs. I know Boise is a very good team, I’ll never deny that. But going through the MWC is not the same. There is no way they deserved the 3 seed. And same with ASU in the Big12.
Does removing the bye’s make it perfect? No, but it makes more sense.

But the mantra is “it’s hard to beat a team 3 times in one season.” And the Vikes and Lions are going to be tested by us again.

Backups are to be expected. Kids can’t wait at all anymore. But Squirrel and Mathews are really surprising.
