Just read about Therac-25: a race condition that took lives.

Most SWEs will never work on life-critical code but the impact software has on lives is hard to ignore: us-east-1 outages, Boeing 737 crashes, Pegasus spyware, Jingwang Weishi.

Some damage is accidental, some intent.

Tried Galdalf challenges yesterday. Quite fun! Couldn't break the eighth level but might try it sometime later.

Made some updates to my website in the last two weeks and saw a surge in incoming traffic. However, I'm confused at why ~75% of website traffic is coming from Ireland. Bots? Makes sense, but why Ireland? Less regulations?

Each possible reason I think of makes me ask more questions.

Last Friday, I joined Hyderabad PostgreSQL UserGroup's meetup the first time. For the last event (a round table), the host, Hari surprisingly invited me to join the panel.

Being inexperienced around databases. I was stunned, and incredibly nervous. Joined anyway.

Finally got my own domain! I have a pretty basic website running at arayofcode.com. The website currently uses Poole theme of Jekyll. I intend to change the UI sometime later, and add more sections.

Distributed Systems Challenge - 3c: Fault Tolerant Broadcast. I initially thought my code worked, until I realised my test script was incorrect. Got it working today.

I started the distributed systems challenge last Friday and am halfway at third task. This has been the most interesting thing I did the entire year, and this year has been full of exciting things throughout.
