We’re proud to share that our co-applicant @bshiferaw.bsky.social, adjunct and visiting professor at uOttawa, has been elected to the 2025 College of New Scholars of the Royal Society of Canada, recognizing his outstanding contributions to global issues.
We are proud to share that our co-applicant Bantayehu Shiferaw Chanie, adjunct and visiting professor at uOttawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and Department of Criminology, has been elected to the 2025 College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC). Dr. Chanie’s work as a political scientist and researcher addresses some of today’s most pressing global issues—from conflict and human rights to democracy and diaspora politics. His election to the RSC is a recognition of his outstanding contributions, as well as a milestone for our collective mission of advancing scholarship, justice, and collaboration. Nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que notre cochercheur le Dr Bantayehu Shiferaw Chanie, professeur auxiliare et professeur invité à l’École supérieure d’affaires publiques et internationales ainsi qu’au Département de criminologie de l’Université d’Ottawa, a été élu au Collège de la Société royale du Canada parmi les nouveaux·elles chercheurs·euses, artistes et scientifiques de la classe 2025 . Les travaux du Dr Chanie, en tant que politologue et chercheur, portent sur certaines des questions mondiales les plus urgentes d’aujourd’hui — allant des conflits et des droits humains à la démocratie et aux politiques de la diaspora. Son élection à la SRC constitue une reconnaissance de ses contributions exceptionnelles, ainsi qu’une étape importante pour notre mission collective de promotion du savoir, de la justice et de la collaboration.
