While we were in Juneau, Alaska we took a bird tour on Chichagof Island. And I captured these two pic’s of the Red Fox Sparrow & the Song Sparrow. For awhile I thought they were the same bird! I added the differences between them on their pic’s.
Red Fox Sparrow Red Fox Sparrows have a stocky, round body and a rounded head, while Song Sparrows have a more orderly pattern on their upperparts. Red Fox Sparrows have rich reddish streaks on their upperparts, a white eye ring, and a distinct rusty red upper tail surface. The Red Fox Sparrow sings one or two song types Song Sparrow Song Sparrows have coarse breast streaks and a more subdued russet color, primarily on the crown and a streak through the eye. Song Sparrow sings a loud, clanking song of 2–6 phrases.

Babb, Montana is a small community located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, just minutes from the eastern edge of Glacier National Park. Babb is a gateway to the Many Glacier area of the park and is known for its good food, fishing, and history

Juneau Alaska
Officially the City and Borough of Juneau, is the capital of the US state of Alaska, located along the Gastineau Channel and the Alaskan panhandle. You can't drive to Juneau, because Juneau is not connected to the road system. It is surrounded by mountain, there are no roads in or out. The only way to get to Juneau is by air or by water.

Capulin Volcano National Monument in New Mexico. We hiked around the rim of the volcano and it was amazing!
The volcano became active about 62,000 years ago and last erupted some 56,000 years ago. The symmetrical cinder cone reaches an elevation of 8,182 feet (2,494 metres) above sea level and rises more than 1,300 feet (400 metres) above the surrounding grass-covered plains; its base is surrounded by lava flows. The volcano’s rim is accessible by a spiral road, and there are hiking trails inside the rim. Each summer at Capulin Volcano, a new generation of lady beetle participates in a wind-carried migration and takes up residence at the highest points of the volcano. After feeding all summer, they hibernate through the winter on the volcano. Surviving beetles then catch a warm current off the volcano in February to the south to reproduce. Since the wind carries the lady beetle in its migration, it has a hard time controlling its destination and may go to aphid-rich fields near the volcano or maybe to wheat fields in Texas.
