They most definitely do. Storystorm jumpstarts the ideas. Then we have a list to draw from for 12 x 12 drafts. Sometimes those 12 x 12 webinars give me ideas to add to my Storystorm list which I add to throughout the year.

I'm always fascinated by the CN's comments of others. For my MS, it was to really think about the MC's actions/reactions.

These are great choices. I love When Nana Dances by Jane Yolen and her granddaughter Maddison Stemple-Piatt

It's a hard choice. Nancy Churnin's writing fact like fiction and Katrina Moore's webinar on endings.

Both. In the morning I have my coffee, but at night, especially in the winter, I love my tea, especially Earl Grey - Green Tea or Lemon Ginger.

I love the song Le Jazz Hot from Victor/Victoria.

Depends on where inspiration hits. If I'm out of the house, by hand. Otherwise, my trusty computer.

I try not to snack but when I do it's peanut M&M's, trail mix, fruit, or whatever is leftover from gift baskets, Halloween etc. I guess I'm not a picky snacker!

QUESTION: #KidLitAMA Melissa, when you have an idea for a subject, do you mostly do in-person research and interviews? Was there a subject you weren't physically able to find out more about? Did you abandon topic or rely on on-line research? @mstewartscience.bsky.social

Thanks so much. I just had a "duh" moment. I had read that article about NF. As a former teacher, at that age, kids are more literal readers and did prefer the straight facts. I guess I have a major story revision coming :). #KidLitAMA (But I don't want too! WAH!)

Sorry. QUESTION is what is her opinion about children would rather get facts from NF than fiction. And if a main problem for character is more important than the info. Obviously having a problem with my own story. Trying to make it brief. Hope it's clear.

I just resent the question but replied to the second part of the thread where it explains to write QUESTION, etc.

QUESTION: #KidLitAMA My info fiction book is more compare/contrast (child/green sea turtle). In critiques am told, fabulous voice, info fascinating but MC must have a problem to solve. Info secondary. Also told a person would buy NF if they wanted these facts. Just want your thoughts/experiences

Yes I replied to main thread. I was just going to do it but will have to shorten question to get # in. :)

I forgot to write #KidLitAMA to my info fiction question. That's what I get for talking/writing too much!
